Welcome to Joe's Bees, a backyard apiary in Connecticut! This hive was contructed in May 2021 from a 3lb package of Italian honeybees Apis mellifera ligustica. The honey bees leave the hive during the daytime to collect floral nectar from flowers to create honey. Inside the hive, the bees build honeycomb from the beeswax they produce to store the collected honey. The bees will be hard at work filling their beehive all summer long.
